POTA Activations

Sunset over the lake.

Dipoles up this evening. Played on 20m and 40m. Some 1w QRP as well.

Stopped on a lunch break. Didn't finish the activation. I came back after work to finish it up. Could have fudged a log or called CQ from not in the park and claimed I was in it, but I have integrity. I did it the right way. Wish more POTA activators in my local area would find some.

Hamstick on a mag mount works best in my setup for these windy days.

Fairly quiet at the park. Had about half dozen people just pull into the parking lot and then just leave. IDK why people do it, but they do. I see it all the time here.

Quiet evening at the park for some POTA. The campers were coming in and out pretty good though. 'Tis the season.

Since it was windy, I used a tree limb to put up my dipole instead of a mast. Worked way better with wind gusts.

My uncle saw I was spotted at the previous park. When I got done with that activation, I gave him a call. His house was on my way to this park, so he joined me. We did some dummy load to dummy load QSOs. With the way HF conditions were, I was down for a quick activation this evening. Still had 160 miles to go to get home after this.

Mag Loop on the air!

A group of 4-5 deer were grazing in the parking lot while I was doing POTA.

They don't ever get too close, but stick around within eyesight.

HF conditions were pretty disappointing, so I headed home instead of continuing on my rove. Forgot to grab a picture in the park, grabbed this one shortly after leaving. 

Mag Loop was trying hard for QSOs today. Conditions appear to be bad.

Was going to stay for longer and get more QSOs this evening, but they were coming in a little slow. So after 10 QSOs, I took off to get some things done at work.

About 6 inches of snow hit last night.

Using the mag loop, only blew over once. More weight on the bottom and it was good to go.
