Park Types
The usual types of lands that qualify in Wisconsin are state parks, state trails, state forests, state wildlife areas, *state fisheries, and state recreation areas.
*There is no "State Fisheries" park type option on POTA, so "State Fish and Wildlife Area" is used instead.
Restrictions
State Natural Areas do qualify for POTA, however the Wisconsin DNR doesn't want us using them. As they are one of the state's highest conserved areas. For now, no State Natural Areas will be added to POTA. There are 12 active State Natural Areas in POTA, if no issues or complaints come up, I won't remove them.
Some Wisconsin state trails are owned or maintained by the counties. Those parks do not qualify for POTA at this time.
County and city/town level parks do not qualify for POTA.
